If you are looking for a dachshund, he is the sweetest, most awesome, wonderful, tremendous dog I have ever fostered! If you don't consider him and put an application in for him, you will be missing out on one SUPER pet to make your home complete for yourself and your family.

Thank you for taking a look at me. Let me tell you a little about myself.

My name is Snickers. I am black and tan and very handsome man, at least that's what my foster mom says. I have also heard her tell people how sweet I am and that I am well-behaved and a great dog. I even heard her say she'd love to keep me. I very much like it here but would rather find another great loving home so she can have space to help others like me.

I am a busy boy and love to play, and I don't even care who or what it is.

I have a foster brother and sister, dachshunds of course, and we will just play and play and play. We all stretch out take a nap and start again.

If they’re not interested then I will play with the children or the kitten. I love children! All ages and the more the merrier. See, my foster mom has grandchildren and others that she watches and boy it is FUN!

I go outside to do my business, I love it out but for some reason there are times I feel like I may be missing something inside. I am very curious and need to be part of all.

Oh and one last thing, I love walks and rides in the car.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
