BIO:

Sadly Snuggles mom passed away and Snuggles was in the apartment for two days with her deceased owner. Luckily the owner’s friends saw that Snuggles needed to be in rescue so they contracted us to see if we would help Snuggles of course we said we would. Snuggles was fed people food and that’s why she was 21.7 lbs when we got her and her long beautiful hair was matted. But we have her on a very strict diet (which I might add she doesn’t care for but is losing weight) and her hair is growing out with good dog food.

Snuggles was not made to walk outside to go potty but instead was given puppy pads to use. We have her used to the doggie door now and she’s doing wonderful. We do feel that because she was used to puppy pads that a strict schedule would be needed to keep her on track for house breaking.

Snuggles loves squeaky toys and won’t destroy them like most dachshunds but instead carries them all over the house with her.

She is fine with the foster dad but prefers foster mom.

Please consider giving Snuggles her last forever home. She’s a sweet little girl with the most darling short little legs.

Help her!

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
