BIO:

Meet Tucker

Tucker came to AADR as a stray so nothing is known about his past. He came in VERY under weight. Tucker has been in a foster home that has worked hard on his socialization. Tucker is FANTASTIC with kids, cats, other dogs, strangers, you name it & he loves it. Tucker is housebroken to a doggie door so if his new family doesn’t have one he will need a refresher course. Tucker LOVES to cuddle & his favorite spot is in the recliner right beside you (see picture). He content sleeping in the big bed with his family or on his very own dog bed.  He knows how to sit & wait (stay). He is a very smart boy & will do anything for a treat. Tucker is the TOTAL package & whatever family chooses to adopt him will be very lucky. He loves going places & rides great in the car. We can’t think of a single negative thing to say about this boy. He is WONDERFUL!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
