Update, 9-8-14:

Hi this is Tinkerbelle checking in. I am learning new things by leaps and bounds, my foster mommy says

that I am really smart for someone that is only 16 weeks old. I am nearly housebroken and have very

few accidents in the house and I will use my pee pad when foster mommy is gone to work. I walk really

well on a leash to be so young, a little more training and I will be really great at it. I love to play with my

3 foster sisters, we have such fun running through the house chasing each other. I also really love to play

with all the doggie toys, especially the chew toys. Foster mommy says that she is going to keep me in

supply of these.

I am really friendly and would make a great addition to anyone’s home that is looking for a furbaby. I

love to lay in your lap or cuddle close to you if you are sitting on the couch reading or watching TV. I

would love for my furever home to have another dog for me to play with, but if they don’t that is OK.

This way I will get all the love and attention. I am really looking forward to finding my furever family, so

please consider adopting me. You will never run low on doggie kisses.

Hi, I’m Tinkerbelle the new kid on the block and very new to the world since I am only 10 weeks old. My 3 sisters, Mommy and I were rescued by AADR from a shelter. We have all been very sick and had to spend time at the vets. We are all better now and ready for a stay at our foster home. My sister Buttercup and I are going to stay with a very nice foster mommy that is going very good care of us until we are adopted. We are not available for adoption yet and will not be until we have our second set of shots.

As we all know when we are as young as I am, I do not have a personality formed yet. Please check back later for an update from me and you can read all about the new things that I have learned. There should be someone out there in the big world that would love to have a puppy just like me for their very own. I cannot wait to find my furever home.

I am going to say bye for now it is time for me to take my nap.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
