BIO:

Hi my name is Eden and some terrible people went off and left me and my babies in the house that they rented. AC was called and we were all so scared they had to trap us but when they took us to the shelter we figured out that they weren’t going to hurt us so we settled down. Then this nice lady came and looked at us and said she’d take us, we didn’t know what that meant at first but we soon found ourselves in a better place where a doctor took great care of us and the staff loved on me and my four baby girls. What we didn’t know is that my poor babies got exposed to parvo and I lost one of my babies but the others are either in new homes or ready to go so at least 3 of my babies are going to have a happy life. NOW they said it’s my turn so here I am letting you know all about me so you’ll be smitten and want to adopt me and live with you forever and ever!!

I just love and I mean love for you to kiss and hug on me it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. As long as you are doling it out I’m sucking it up. I didn’t get this much attention at my other place.

I’m housebroken for you and will go out and potty, no messes in the house for me, no sir, I know how this works. I do like to bark at strangers going down the street to let them know this is MY house and not to mess with it. So foster mom said I’ll make a great watchdog whatever that is but I’m up to the task.

I get along with all my foster brothers and sisters but I do try to get a little bossy with my sisters so I guess it would be better if I only had brothers.

I eat my meals in a crate and when my foster mom and dad go away I’m in a crate and I’m fine with it…you might have to give me a little treat but I can be bought!

Oh one more thing, I come with 6 months of Heartgard so please won’t you put in an application for me so I can have a forever home that doesn’t think of me as “just a dog” and a throw away at that. My foster mom said I’ll be ready to go to my forever home the end of September, just in time for nice crisp walks in the fall air!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
