Oscar7 was an owner surrender due to the fact that he didn't like strangers in his home and started to get aggressive toward them. He was not neutered and was not shown or taught that he is not the pack leader. We think that he would be great with kids 8+ yrs and a family that is familar with dachshunds. He loves to play with all the foster dogs and willingly gives all kinds of kisses. He loves to be out in the fenced in yard so we think that is a must to take care of some of his puppy energy and another young dog to play with. If you meet all these requirements and are looking to add to your family then please fill out the app for Oscar7 as he won't last long at this rate. He does come with 3 mos of Frontline and 6 mos supply of Heartgard and completely vetted and microchipped. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
