BIO:

Sammy came from a breeder.  He is super sweet and loving once he gets used to you.  He is very skiddish and would be best if he had a fenced in yard, because he loves to spend time outside, no matter how cold it is out.  When in the house he loves laying next to his foster mom and dad on the couch. He doesn't play with toys or his foster brothers, but will lay next to them on the couch.  He RARELY barks, I have heard him bark twice in 2 weeks.  He will have accidents if not taking out frequently. He loves laying up by your pillow in the bed at night, never under the covers like many dachshunds.  He is absolutely beautiful and soft.

More about Sammy number 5....TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
