BIO:
Tebow was surrendered to animal control because the older dog in the family did not get along with him.  He is a typical puppy, filled with sweetness and exuberance.  He is old enough that he will settle down and snooze on the couch or a lap.  T usually sits on command and comes running when he hears his name.  He is housebroken and will stare at you or do a little dance when he wants to go out.  If left for the whole day he will have accidents, but usually uses a pee pad if one is provided.
Tebow gets along with the other dogs in the house as long as they stay out of his food bowl.  He  enjoys playing with other dogs, large and small.  He can be a little too boisterous for the older dogs, but backs off if they growl at him.  T isn't too excited about toys and doesn't mind sharing them.  He has not been around cats, but can be introduced to some if you need to know how he will do.  T is friendly with new people and would be fine with children who are old enough to understand that they must be gentle with him.
Tebow sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is ready to go out first thing in the morning.  He would be happy to sleep in a dog bed or with his people too.  A fenced yard or frequent trips to a dog park will help T burn off his youthful energy.  He walks well on a leash and enjoys going for strolls around the neighborhood.  It would be nice if he has a dog friend to play with.
If you are looking for a handsome young fellow to liven up your household, Tebow is your guy!

More about Tebow....NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
