BIO:

Snuggles came from a back yard breeder.  She is super sweet and loving once she gets used to you.  Snuggles is extremely submissive.  She cowers every time we go to pick her up or get too close,  if we are standing.  On the couch, she feels comfortable and will lay next to her foster parents and foster fur brothers.  She will give the sweetest little kisses and is so lovable.  Due to her being so submissive, Snuggles is having a hard time getting potty trained.  Currently she wears a doggie diaper because she tinkles some when we go to pick her up. Her tail wags when we go to pick her up, so we believe it may be a combination of excited and nervousness.  She runs around the yard with her foster fur brothers and is slowly getting used to being a family member.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
