BIO:

Toodles is waiting for you to fill out an application to adopt her what are you waiting for??

Toodles has a troubled past. She was found at a deer camp, wounded possibly by wild boar.  She was taken home and healed and kept for about 6 months before she was dumped at a shelter. We don’t know why she was taken to the shelter after all that but we were contracted to take her and we agreed.

Now about Toodles, sweet is a good name for her, she loves to be on your lap and gets along with all the foster brothers and sisters. She’s not a big barker and will only bark when the others start.

She is doing very well with housetraining and when going to a new home she will probably have accidents but once she gets used to the schedule of your home she’ll be fine.

We really think she would be fine with or without another animal, but we think a fenced in yard is best as she loves to be out in the yard just enjoying the warm weather.

If you are interested in Toodles please contact the foster mom but keep in mind she will not be ready to go to her forever home until the middle of May. She will also come with 5-6 months of Heartgard, this is a plus for any adopter.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
