BIO:

Daisy found as a stray in AR at 12 yrs old in horrible shape. Lots of missing teeth, rail thin with dull coat.

We feel she was a breeder dog or someone that just didn’t care about her and dumped her BUT her life is looking up. We are getting some weight on her, got rid of the rest of the nasty teeth that were left in her head(she’s not toothless but feeling better) and her coat is starting to shine up!

Don’t let her age scare you, she’s healthy as a horse and has got a lot of spring in her step, you’ll find that out when you call her to dinner!

She loves to toddle around the yard but her favorite thing is curled up under a blanket on the couch! Make sure you check that lump out before you sit down and what you need a lap buddy well she’s your gal.

Please consider giving Daisy #16 her last place to lay her head down. She’ll give you tail wags that’s for sure.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
