Update, 5-15-15:
It turns out that Snickers loves people, including children. We were walking by when the local children's theater group let out and several boys and girls hurried over to greet us. Snickers gladly accepted lots of petting and rolled over for a belly rub. She was even happy with the 3 year old's awkward petting. Of course, like any dog, Snickers should be monitored when she is with a very young child to assure that nobody is accidently injured.
Snicker's weight loss program is going very well and she is close to a healthy weight. Her new owners will need to make sure she continues to eat right and exercise so she can retain her new figure. Snickers yips unhappily for a few minutes when I first leave, but settles down quickly and snoozes with the other dogs until I get home. She greets me happily at the door and is ready to go outside and do her business. She is doing very well with her housebreaking, but if she is left for more than 8 hours or so she will probably have an accident. Snicks loves to go for walks, but hold on tight if she spots a squirrel! She also enjoys being out in the yard sniffing the grass and snoozing in the sun. Snickers would be a wonderful family pet.

Snickers came up from a shelter in TX when they contacted us to take her. She came to us overweight by about 4-5 lbs but we are working very hard to help her take that off so she can get her girlish figure back.
Snicker’s really needs someone to be home with her most of the time and have another dog to keep her company when you can’t be. She has mild separation anxiety but is not destructive. We leave her out when we are gone but all she does is voice her displeasure of us leaving her but once we are gone she’ll settle into a doggie bed and sleep until you come home. For that reason we do not think she would be good in an apartment but would do well in a home with a fenced in yard so that she can stroll the perimeter checking out her domain. Snicker’s is a sweet girl that needs a home that will not abandon her again, will you be that home?
