BIO:  If you are looking for a smart, loving, happy little boy, then this Teddy is your next best friend! Teddy wants to be with you more so than another dog, but he also likes to play so we think another younger dog that he could enjoy play time with would be ideal. Teddy will also play by himself if others are not willing to play with him. We don’t think Teddy will go much over 10 pounds when fully grown so he’s going to be a mini. He loves lap time or following you around, just you is all he wants. We think Teddy needs a fenced-in yard, an empty-nester and another dog. If you’ve been thinking of adding another dog to your pack, please consider Teddy, he won’t let you down!

Teddy was obtained off Craig’s List and when she realized she didn’t have the appropriate time to give him, she didn’t have the heart to take Teddy back to the people that sold him so she contacted rescue. Teddy is a great little boy and deserves the best of homes. He is insecure and needs confidence; he’s getting much better here and doing very well on his housetraining. We have a doggie door and with that he will go in and out and use it; if you do not have one then you’ll need to put him on a schedule but he rewards very well and won’t be hard to get him used to going to the door.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. 

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 Fee added for the required Health Certificate. 

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
