BIO:

Oscar is a handsome standard dachshund with adorable wrinkled feet and big paws. He is like a teddy bear that does need to lose a little weight, which is what we are working on at his foster home. However, despite his weight, he likes to run and play!

This sweetheart was a surrender as his owner moved and could not take him with her. All I can say is, it is her loss and will be a gain to whoever adopts him. Oscar is so sweet and gentle; he just wants to be loved and give you love.

He gets along well with our three dachshunds and our next door neighbor cat. Oscar likes to go for walks as well as go for car rides. He is just a happy camper! A big plus is Oscar is housebroken and he has NOT been a marker at all while in our home. What a wonderful trait this is for a male doxie.

So if you want a loving teddy bear, Oscar is the one for you! You may contact us at chlongo@knoloy.net for any questions, but to adopt this handsome boy fill out an application via AADR website.

More about Oscar number 18.....FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
