Jack is a very friendly and happy boy. Jack gets along well with the other dogs in foster home after he was introduced to them. Jack is still young and likes to play with his foster brothers and sisters. We think it would be best if Jack’s forever home has another dog to play with, due to his energy level. Even though Jack has lots of young doxie energy, he loves his lap time and is ready to power down when you are. Since Jack is in foster care, he does not sleep in the big bed, but if he is allowed to at his forever home Jack would snuggle with you all night long. Jack loves going outside to explore and check out the yard with his people. We think a fenced yard would be ideal for him. Jack is doing well on a house-training schedule and as long as the schedule is stuck to, he does not have accidents. Jack does have an allergy to fleas, when he got here we immediately put him on a good flea preventative and now his fur is growing back. Jack is a great guy and deserves a great home, can that be yours? He wanted to let you know that even if you don't live near VT, don’t let that bother you, we have volunteers that will help him to get to where ever you are, so he said hurry and apply he’s W-A-I-T-I-N-G!!
*UPDATE* September 21 2015 Hi! My name is Jack and I am one lucky boy! Not too long ago, I was a stray on the streets in Texas. A worker at the pound notified a nice man who is a member of AADR. He came and took me to his home. I had a flea allergy and he gave me special baths so that now I don't have a trace of a flea. My hair is growing back in so everyone can see what a handsome boy I am. My foster mom says I am a very smart boy too. She only has to show me something once or twice and I know exactly what she wants me to do. Since I am so young, I love to run and run. I love my foster mom's fenced yard. I hope my forever home has one of those and at least one other dog who likes to run and play. That would make me the happiest dog in the world.
I like snuggle time when Mom watches TV. I've heard that some dogs get to snuggle with their person all night long in the big bed. That would be a dream come true. My foster mom takes me outside every couple of hours and that keeps me from having accidents in the house. I am on medicine to keep the fleas away. All I need now is my furever family and my dreams would be complete.
If you don't live near VT, don't worry. Foster mom says that lots of people would be glad to help me get to my new home. She says I deserve the best home ever and that whoever gives me my home will be a very lucky person. Please don't keep me waiting. If I sound like the right dog for you please apply to adopt me now! Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
