BIO:  Hi everyone! I came from AL when my owners were moving out of country and they decided they could not take me with them. I had been neglected, no shots, no heartworm prevention and no dental but my story doesn’t end there. A rescue person saw me on a free site and contacted the owner and they were glad to get rid of me so here I am. All updated on shots, on heartworm prevention and a new dental! I’m a new man!!

I am a little timid with new people, I just have to have time to see that you are ok in my book and after that I’m your buddy.

I am used to being confined either in a crate or gated room when you are not going to be home but the rest of the time I like spending outside in a fenced-in yard or on the couch. I don’t think I’d like an apartment because there would be too many scary noises and being a dog, I’d have to bark at them.

I know these picture are not the best but ask my foster dad to send you one and he’ll be able to update this once he knows more about me….hope to see you soon!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
