BIO:

Sweetie has a sad story to tell and she wanted us to put it out there. She was adopted as a puppy from a rescue by a very bad man (no home visit or anything checked). This man was hiding from the police so because of that, he hid himself and Sweetie for some time. Finally the law caught up with him, but the last two months Sweetie was left in a dark smelly house and he’d go by every 2-3 days to feed and water her and several other dogs. When he knew he was going to jail, he asked a good Samaritan to take Sweetie and she agreed. She immediately took Sweetie to the vet and had her checked and given all her shots. What Sweetie’s new friend didn’t know at first is that she’s highly allergic to Sweetie so after two weeks of being sick, she had to let her go and come in to rescue.

Sweetie has not let any of this spoil her beautiful disposition, she is friendly, happy and lovin' life!! She is housebroken if you show her the schedule and she loves just loves to be outside. When not outside, she loves being in your lap or near you. She will sleep on the couch at night or if you invite her, she’ll sleep at the bottom of the bed all night long.

Sweetie is the 2nd most perfect dog we've had in our care! You can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a companion for yourself or another dog - she is the best! Don’t let this one slip through your fingers, grab her up! Email her foster mom for more details or more pictures of this beyond sweet girl.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
