BIO:  Callie here, and if you're looking for someone to boss the rest of your pets around, I’m your gal! I’m the dominant one of my pack sisters and brothers and I love my job.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’ll be oh so lovable to you but I’ll let the rest of the pack know that I’m number one! I just want to be queen bee.

Of all my brothers and sisters, I look the most dachshund, like my mom. But I’m not going to be a mini dachshund, probably 15 pounds or so.

Right now my day consists of eating, sleeping, playing and starting all over again. We went to a place called the vet today and they poked us with needles but after that they loved on us so it was okay and we were all brave. They told us it was for our own good.

Are you looking for a little girl to call your own? I would be best with another male dog that I could boss around and oh since I’m asking, a fenced in yard too please. You’re going to have to drive to within one hour of Lewisburg TN to pick me up. My foster mom is having back trouble and can’t drive far, so please remember that when applying for me, Callie #2.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
