BIO:

MUST have a fenced in yard and another young dog to play with, very sweet but shy and will bark when in his new environment at first that has to be accepted.

Hello, my name is Dach Vader and I’m 5 months old and looking for my Furever Home!  I came from a home with lots of kids and other dogs, but I wasn’t getting all the attention I should have been given. This is how I came to live with my foster mom. I am a little shy at first because everything is new to me, but I am working on my courage so I won’t be afraid.

My foster mom is working with me on how to wear a harness (which feels pretty weird) and walking on a leash. I am not too fond of it right now, but she says I will get used to it and be a pro really soon. I sleep in the crate, but sometimes I get sad in it and want to be with my foster brothers and sisters. I am just now learning about going outside, did you know it is a world of new smells to me?? I love getting to go outside and smell everything out there. My foster mom is training me to potty outside, she says that’s the only place I should go, and that I will need to be on a schedule until I am fully trained.

I am looking for my very own furever home. I would do well in a home with other dogs or even cats. All I want is my very own Furever family I can grow old and grey with. Is that you?

Please look at me if you want to add a little furbaby to your family!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
