BIO: Josie is a natural beauty as you can see! Her eyes are so expressive because of her thick black line that circles each eye. Her foster mommy is jealous. Josie’s beauty even shines brighter with her always wagging tail. Josie is very sweet and wants to play, but she is also shy. Sometimes she will come to us but backs up when we try to pat her or pick her up. I think this is because she didn’t get much one on one with a human in her previous home. The whole time her tail & eyes are saying yes I want your love, but just not sure!
This sweetheart was a surrender as her owner just left her behind with 5 other dachshunds so luckily AADR rescued them before they went to a shelter. Josie probably never got her teeth cleaned and might have not had proper nutrition as she had to have many teeth removed as they were decayed. She does have some so not toothless! We just wet down her dry food and she goobles it down.
Josie gets along fine with our three dachshunds and our next door neighbor cat. She really is intrigued with him. She usually stays in her crate for naps during the day and just keeps an eye out to make sure she doesn’t miss anything. At night, she wants to be in the bed with us, but would do fine in a crate. Josie walks well on a leash and does good in our car rides. We are working with her on being housetrained. She does use her pads to poop when she can’t hold it, but at times she will pee elsewhere. This is not a daily issue and of course being in a new environment probably is a reason for this as well as her background. I believe she will be housetrained before too long.
Josie would do fine as being an only dog or with others. She is quiet and sweet just wanting to be loved! You may contact us at chlongo@knoloy.net for any questions, but to adopt this handsome boy fill out an application via AADR website.
