Bella came to rescue after an unfortunate life changing situation with her former owners. No fault of hers or her previous owners.

You can tell Bella was a much loved and well cared for little princess.

 

Hi my name is Bella but my foster mom calls be Belly just like my old mommy. I like to lay back in her arms and get my belly rubbed.

 

I am a Dorkie but I don't think that is a nice name for a little girl. All it means is that I am a Dachshund/Yorkie, which means I am the best

of both worlds. I am settling into my foster new foster home and getting use to my foster brother and sisters. Having a few potty issues but my

foster mom says that is because I am just getting use to a new home. All my life I was able to sleep in the big bed so my foster mom lets me sleep

in the big bed with her. I sleep all night on a pillow and she covers me with my blankie. I love to play with my toys, especially my pink pig.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
