BIO:

Dudley is a wonderful senior gentleman who, if you are lucky enough to become his forever Mom or Dad, will give you more love than you can imagine.  He has been a marvelous addition to his foster family.   Dudley is absolutely no trouble, barks very little, and enjoys his foster brothers and sisters.

Regardless of where he is, Dudley is happiest when he is with his human.   Settling into the recliner for a nap and a movie or good book is perfect.  Sleeping really close in the big bed is pure heaven.

Dudley likes toys, treats, lying in the sun to catch a few rays, exploring his yard, playing with his foster siblings, and road trips.  He  LOVES belly rubs!

Being a senior, Dudley is mellow and much too sophisticated for juvenile stuff like shoe chewing.  There is just no time in his schedule for destructive activities.  He crates easily but does not enjoy it.  However, he does stay in his crate while his foster mom is away from home.  A forever home with a fenced yard would be fantastic!

Dudley was surrendered to a shelter after experiencing a long period of neglect.  He had been confined to a crate receiving very little attention or food.  When he came into rescue, Dudley was very thin, had skin issues, and was suffering significant hair loss.  He lost several teeth when he had his dental.  With some good chow and TLC, Dudley is once again becoming a handsome little guy.  He is still a bit reserved, but his sweet personality comes through a little more every day.

Please give him the opportunity to be your “little buddy” sharing your life and being loved forever.  He deserves it!

Dudley wants to remind you "Senior Wieners Rock!"

More about Dudley......TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
