Choo-Choo aka Cricket RIP
In loving memory of my sweet girl Choo-Choo (aka Cricket). I adopted Choo-Choo from AADR on August 21, 2014. I'd lost my wirehaired dachshund, Buckwheat, 5 months earlier and I was lost in grief. Cricket turned out to be my "therapy dog." After 5 months of crying daily, Cricket stopped my crying the minute she walked into my house. She loved to cuddle and give lots of kisses. She loved to snuggle when watching TV, get under the blanket next to me when we slept at night, and had a very faint little quiet snore that would lull me to sleep. She enjoyed a few vacations to the beach and got to see the Atlantic Ocean, quite a thrill for this little sausage dog from Chattanooga Tennessee! I lost her on November 5, 2018 and I miss her every day. Judy C.

Brodie
We adopted Brodie in March 2009, at age 6. He was our second secure, becoming fast friends with his Doxie brother, Mitch and later with our other pup, Gordon. We referred to the three as The Hot Dog Gang. Brodie was shy at first but always so happy. His tail never stopped wagging. He was one of our inspirations to begin fostering and he acted as an ambassador to the 17 foster dogs who we've worked with so far. Brodie lived a life so full of joy and adventure. He went everywhere and did everything. He was an amazing companion. On January 31, 2020 we held Brodie for his final act of kindness aw we told him what a good boy he is and said, "see you later." He was at home in his living room, in my arms, surrounded by people and dogs who loved him. We are forever changed by both the completeness that Brodie brought to us through his life and also the sorrow that comes with his passing. We will never forget him, and he will forever live on in our hearts. See you at the Rainbow Bridge, Mr. B!

Cash RIP
2/12/2020 Cash came into my life as a foster dog from a shelter, with not knowing a lot about him it became apparent that he wasn’t taken care of in his life. When AADR rescued him we found out he was scared or angry at humans and very scared at the vet. With being at my house for a little while he just wanted to be loved on by his people. We did find out at the vet that his little body wasn't in the best shape and we had to make the hard decision to let him go before he suffered any longer. We will miss him terribly. We love you Cash.

Gretta RIP
Greta was the sweetest dog, but also a princess! She loved everyone and was surprisingly unafraid of big dogs. I don’t think she knew she was only a foot tall. She loved to chase chipmunks and rabbits, but ignored those pesky squirrels. Greta loved to go for walks, unless it was raining, snowing, windy, too hot (I think you get it), until she got older and frail, but more recently enjoyed the outdoors in her doggy stroller. She accepted her younger ‘sister’ Gabby without question, and tolerated her fur-brothers (cats) Harry and Spike. Unfortunately, after having her as my fur-baby for just over 10 years Greta started with kidney function issues that despite best efforts, eventually resulted in her passing. At best guess she was 16 or 17. Everyone knew her by her leopard print collar and harness and she was a favorite at the vet. Greta will be missed so much, but I know that she is running free and no longer has any medical issues.

Wally RIP
Wally passed away at his home on January 16 with his forever family. Wally joined our family December 2014 and was the love of our lives. Wally loved his sister Lily, his blankets, big bed, sitting out in the sun but most of all he loved just being at home with us. Wally taught us to slow down and enjoy life. We are thankful to AADR for all they do every day and Wally looked forward to the AADR picnics. Wally will be missed always. Wally will be waiting for all of us to be together again. Until then our sweet boy - run fast and free, take deep breaths and enjoy the sun. Love to you always, your family.
