Ellie RIP
I was wondering if you remember me. I adopted Ellie from your Organization almost 6 -yrs ago. You had not traveled at that time to Texas but you did for me. I with a very heavy heavy heart really it is broken had to put her to sleep last Wednesday. She was getting where she wouldnt eat and I took her to the Dr. and he and I did everything we possibly could. I wanted to Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the years I was able to spend with her. She was the most sweetest dog. The only thing I regret i wish I would of had her since she was a puppy, but I cherished the time i had her. Jina Hall Johnson

Buddy (Buddy#8)

Buddy came into my life as a foster dog. It soon became apparent that he wasn’t going anywhere and I adopted him about 6 months later. He was the most mild mannered, patient dachshund I have ever met. He didn’t play a lot, just wanted to be loved on and sit in your lap. I don’t have a lot of details about the first half of his life, but it couldn’t have been great.

When AADR rescued him, he had Heartworms which they treated. Later we found out he had 2 bb bullets lodged in his sides. Having all that done to him, you would expect him to be scared or angry at humans. Nothing could be further from the truth. He loved everyone and everyone who met him loved him, too. 

Buddy’s heart became too weak to support his body this year. Even with treatment, he just couldn’t get better. Even when he was struggling to breathe from fluid buildup, he just wanted to be loved on by his people. We had to make the decision to let him go before he suffered any longer. We will miss him terribly. We love you Buddy!!

Fabio
From owner Karen B. Fabio was my first rescue dog. I adopted him from AADR in 2011. I wondered why he was named Fabio and once I got him I understood why. Such a special dog deserved a special name. From the minute I saw him I knew he was one of a kind. When I drove him home from the meeting point, he climbed onto my lap and slept there the whole ride back. He was a sweetheart with quite a big personality and I will miss him terribly. See you again one day my dear Fabio.

Milly Jane RIP
My name is Millie Jane and I am one of the best AADR happy endings.Diane Irwin rescued me from a life of uncertainty and brought me into AADR. This simple act of kindness saved my life, you see I was suffering from Glaucoma. AADR provided me with the medical care I was denied for years. I had one of my eyes removed and went to my foster family in SC expecting to be adopted quickly. I got sick again and had to have my other eye removed, I was completely blind.The Board of AADR spared know expense in making sure this was the best decision for me. My family was devastated but, it really was a good thing. I got to stay with them forever, I lived the best life,I enjoyed traveling, playing golf, eating from the grill and always getting to ride with the wind in my face. I got the chance to grow old with a loving family and when it was my time to go my mom held me in her arms while I took my last breath. Thank you to everyone at AADR for allowing me to live and die with a family that loved me....Love Mom Tracy

DOX
I adopted Dox at 9 years old and knowing I wouldn’t have as many years with him as I would have with a puppy, but I’m glad I could share almost 7 years with him. He did a lot of things with me. He flew back and forth to Florida many times for vacation, worked with me at an eveningwear company, rode the train into Manhattan daily, took stroller rides in prospect park, saw outdoor concerts and many other activities. Dox was a great snuggler and a good boy. I’m so glad I have Lucy here to help me through our loss. Mommy loves you Dox 6/9/2019 RIP
