Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Bobby.....VA

Bobby...who's now named Buddy is making himself right at home:)) We're still working on his stubbornness when it come to leash walks...he seems to be a homebody some days... Lol But other than that he's doing great and is the best snuggle buddy!

Barney....MD

He is doing better everyday. I can tell he must have been abused, he goes in his crate a lot. He feels secure in there, I bought him a 5 star crate.☺️ but he is very happy. I'm still working on his potty training, he has accidents, but is doing much better. We go for walks on a schedule and he does his business. He is very sweet, but shows some aggression when someone he's not sure of comes into the house. He has declared it his territory. LoL but everyone loves him. He is always wagging his tail and very curious. He is a little hunter when we go out he sniffs everything, we live in the woods and have a lot of deer, he thinks he is a very big dog and chases them away and then is very proud of himself. I will be taking him to the vet next week.  Please tell everyone that I really appreciate all their hard work to get him to me. I really love him and will keep you up to date on his progress.
He really loves the snow!

Thanks Carol

Baxter number 4....NJ

Just sending some pictures to let you know how Ace (formerly Baxter) is doing. As you can see we love him. Nala our golden, has a new best friend. He is such a love bug. Mr. Man is fitting right in. We taught him to sit, wait (which he only waits for a second) and speak. He even goes potty when we tell him to. He's so smart. Thank you. Becky

Bear....NJ

Bear is doing great.  We just got back from our first checkup with our Vet.
Vet reviewed medical info provided to us by fosters.  She said he looks to be in good health.

He is very active.

Benson #2.....MI

Benson and I are both on Cloud 9!  We're meant for each other!  As you know, he gets to come to work with me and he is such a hit.  (Nobody talks to me anymore; they all want to see and play with Benson)  He had his first appointment with our vet yesterday and was declared perfect.  (I already knew that)  He has already been around some other dogs and he does really well.  Luckily, big dogs are usually very patient and gentle with annoying little dogs.

He still has his flying nun ears, but one of them is slowly flipping down in a more normal fashion.  I don't care if they never look "normal" he is just so stinkin' CUTE!

No thanks necessary for me.  I thank YOU for my new best friend.
