BIO:  Princess came from Oklahoma when her owner could no longer care for her due to health issues. She is a timid girl at first, but once she warms up to you, she is a sweet little girl who loves belly and back rubs. Princess would love it if you were newly retired or if you could work from home.

Our must-haves for little Princess include:

  • Someone who is home more often than not or newly retired
  • A fenced yard since she likes being outside as long as it’s not too cold, and if it is, then she expects you to have a sweater or coat on her
  • She can be an only dog or with another dog, a small adult dog is best, no big dogs.

This little lady is the total package--a real little joy.  She wanted everyone to know that she is well qualified to fill the positions of loyal companion and entertainment coordinator so she has provided the following resume:

Objective:  To be your best friend and bring you endless love and fun

Strengths:

  • I’m small, but mighty (mighty adorable, mighty fast, mighty loyal, and loving)
  • Very high cuteness quotient
  • I am a beautiful color (grayish blue, like a Weimaraner)
  • My fur feels like velvet
  • I have beautiful white teeth
  • Love to cuddle
  • Great at riding in a car
  • Walk on a leash like a show dog
  • Will sleep quietly anywhere
  • Eat and drink well
  • Outstanding snuggler
  • Willingly go into my kennel when I want some alone time
  • 100% accuracy on the pee pad
  • I go in and out of the yard by myself
  • I’m the best at chasing sqweekie toys and sometimes I even bring them back
  • I play well with others

Weaknesses

  • I hog the blanket from my foster sister
  • I’m very timid at first, but give me a week and I’ll melt your heart and be your angel forever

References:

  • My foster mom (She thinks I am the absolute bomb!)

That's quite an impressive resume!  Don't you think?

============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.
