BIO: Hi there!  Please take some time to read my bio and don’t just look at my handsome face.

Fenced in yard is required and another younger dog to play with him.

I came from Wetumka, AL where I was turned in by my (at least) second owner. I’m ALL puppy so I need another younger dog to play with and I LOVE to play so that means I have to have a fenced-in yard so my best bud and I can run and play to our hearts' content.

AADR said that because I’ve already been in at least two homes (maybe more, I’m not telling), they are going to be very picky about where I do.

I love my people too so don’t try to lock me up away from you 'cause I’ll cry, better to leave me with another buddy if you have to go somewhere so we can play and not think about you not being there.

I’m doing great on the doggie door they have for me and with a little help, I know I could let you know when I have to go since I’m VERY smart. Did I tell you like to play with other dogs?

I am a happy boy, I like everyone and other dogs, but I’m not so sure about those things they call cats, I guess if they were playful and dogs savvy I’d play with them. Anyway, please don’t make me stay here too long... I want a home!

More about Tucker in MO

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
