BIO (10/16/2019):  NEEDS AN ADOPTER IN FL WITH A HOME WITHOUT STAIRS

Hi folks, Buddy here!  I’m looking for my LAST forever home!  My first owner loved me for 7 years but surrendered me to rescue when she had to move into an apartment that didn’t allow pets.  My second owner loved and spoiled me for 2 years, but she recently passed away.  Now I am back in foster care waiting for one more awesome family to love me FOREVER.  Is that you?

I’m a GREAT dog if I do say so myself... LOL!  I’d love to have someone home a lot because it makes me happy to have a person nearby.  I love to nap!  When I wake up, I come looking for you.  Like my foster mom, I have aged a little bit since I was in her home two years ago.  My hearing and eyesight aren’t perfect, but neither are hers (he-he)!  I’m not crazy about riding long distances in a car, so I would really like my new family to live in Florida.

My rear legs are a little bowed... picture a cowboy getting off a horse after a long ride!  I’m used to walking on a leash, but if you want a jogging buddy or a dog to go on lengthy walks, I’m not your man!  While I’m making my wish list there are two more things... no stairs, ‘cause steps are hard for me to maneuver, and will you allow me to sleep in the BIG bed?  Oh, I’d love cuddling next to you so much!!!

Now look at my picture again.  Am I not just cuter than cute?!?  If you’re looking for a handsome dude who wants to be with you all the time, I’m your man for sure!  Email my foster mom if you have any questions.  She’ll tell you how AWESOME I am!!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
