BIO: LOOK INTO MY EYES… DEEP INTO MY EYES! Don’t you see the sadness at losing the only home I’d ever known? I want a last forever home that I can call my own and I want it to be yours. I would do well with another dog or two, foster mommy has two boy doggies and I love them!. But, if you are home a lot, I could be an only dog too and be your buddy.
I came from TX when my owner died and the family didn’t want me any longer. So, here I am… homeless at 11 years old. I had a fatty growth on my chest that the rescue took off. It didn’t bother me but it didn’t help my looks and they said with my age I needed all the help I could get. BUT look at my face, isn’t that a face you could fall for?
I love to go for short walks and will even get a little pep in my step but after that I’m ready to come home to take a nap. Did I tell you that my foster mommy says I snore!?! Pretty loudly too but she said it’s ok, so I’m not too worried about it. She said it’s cute, just like me.
No cats or kids, please. A small fenced-in yard would be great, just so I can wander around in it and remember my rabbit chasing days. I don’t have many teeth because I had to have a lot of them pulled, but I can still chew the little pieces of hard dog food.
Please, please, make a girl’s wish for a lasting forever home come true! You will not regret adopting and loving me! See you real soon!
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
