Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Gracie #9 in PA

Gracie has touched my heart and I am so happy to have her. She came to me in October.  I lost my last Doxie just this past May, Oliver was 12 and my other Doxie Oscar 4 years ago, he was 16.5. I adopted Oscar at 13 years old. He was my love bug and never let me out of his site. Everyone cannot believe how much Gracie looks like Oscar. Same coloring and that adorable little white face!  Gracie is so friendly with everyone she meets.  She goes up to greet every person she sees, adults and children alike. All she wants is to be petted and given belly rubs. She is doing really well with learning to go outside to " do her business". Gracie loves to snuggle and stays bundled up in her cozy blankets by my side. She loves to sleep in my big bed and runs to the bedroom when I tell her it is time for " night night".  Gracie had a birthday November 24th and is now 12 years young.  You would not think she is 12 especially when she sees the squirrels in my back yard, she can really run when she chases them. It is so cute to see.

We are working on walks. Gracie wants to go where Gracie wants to go! LOL.

We need to work on car rides because she wants to crawl on my lap and wants me to hold her.

Some people I know do not understand why I would adopt an older dog. I do not understand why someone would not adopt an older dog . All dogs deserve a safe home and to be loved.

Gracie filled a huge empty place in my heart and home.  She is so sweet and loving and makes me smile all the time.   I cannot believe that any one would give her up. Thank you to everyone at AADR for finding her and letting me have her in my life."
