BIO:  Patsy was found in a Walmart parking lot and taken to a vet clinic by a Good Samaritan. Found wandering means she belonged to someone but was dumped in the hopes someone would find her and take her home before she was hit by a car. Who would do that?!  Patsy's list includes:

  • Must have a fenced yard
  • Lost all her teeth so she will need soft food for the rest of her life... but you will have NO dental bills!
  • Would be fine being an only dog
  • Loves sleeping in the big bed

Patsy would love to have someone home most of the time so she can follow you around the house or in the yard. It’s oblivious she was not well cared for because the dental resulted in her losing all her teeth. We had dental surgery done on her and all her mouth was stitched so there will be no open fistulas. She eats softened hard food just fine. Patsy is a sweet little girl that deserves a home that will care for her for the rest of her life!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
