FOSTER HOME Stephanie smburmei@comcast.net

Oscar found himself homeless when his mom found herself widowed and having difficulty with health and finances. He was turned in with his life-long friend, Bubbles, who is available for adoption also. When she was unable to pay for vaccines and routine health checks, she turned to AADR. We are glad to report that Oscar is now up-to-date on all his vaccines, had his teeth cleaned, and is ready for a new forever home! Oscar is a sweet boy and is 100% certified as a totally spoiled rotten lap dog AND he's awfully handsome! He loves attention and will sit in your lap for hours if you let him. He is playful and enjoys lots of BELLY RUBS! Right now, Oscar’s belly is way too big and he needs a forever home that is committed to get him to a healthy weight. His foster mom has him on weight management food and he is working on gaining his youthful figure. He should weigh 12-14 pounds.

Oscar would LOVE to be adopted with Bubbles. They have been together ever since puppyhood, love to play together, and sleep together in a crate at night. However, his foster mom thinks he’ll be just fine without Bubbles as long as you’re willing to be patient to help him transition. Bubbles spent a few days at the vet and he cried at night a time or two, but was easily comforted. He gets along well with his foster brothers and sisters---no problems at all! In his previous home, he was also around cats. He does not like young kids that squeal and move quickly, but would be fine with older children that understand how to be respectful of a doxie in the family. Oscar is a well mannered boy with a sweet, laid-back temperament that is typical of a long haired doxies and a joy to have around.

If you have any questions or want more pictures, email his foster mom, Stephanie: smburmei@comcast.net   THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If transporting by volunteers through our organization or a commercial transporter, a $35 fee for the Health Certificate must be added to the adoption fee.

Oscar B...TN's companion, Bubbles...TN (adopted) can also be seen on our website.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
