BIO:

Marta is the cutest little darling. And I do mean little!  She's just a peanut size dynamo that LOVES attention. She is scared of men, but LOVES her foster mommy.  I think she would quickly attach herself to any woman. We believe the puppy mill she came from, had a very cruel and evil man, as several of the dogs from this miller, won't warm to men.  But Marta could have a great life with a woman that wants a darling companion to cuddle , take long walks, sleep in the big bed and became each other's best friend.  Marta is truely a beauty with her very smooth red wild boar out line. She has learned to walk on the leash with a harness that will come with her.  She loves play, with other dogs. She really just needs to feel safe to blossom and be all she was meant to be!  She is even doing well using the doggie door.  If you have room in your heart and in home for a darling tiny girl, don't hesitate to learn more about Marta.

BIO:

Marta came from a puppy mill in MO.  She was to be shoot if her rescuer did not hurry and get her.  This breeder loses interest quickly when they are done using a dog.  Marta is very small, yet has had several litters. It appeared she has had a c section in her past.  But she is now spayed and puppies are a thing of the past! Marta is very attached to her friend Bluebell. ( see her bio on this website)  They shared a rabbit cage at the mill all of their lives.  Marta is the sweetest little girl, and depends on Bluebell to feel safe.  They both are loving hugs and kisses. Marta is only just learning about a harness and a leash, and to trust people. But she does really enjoy walking and exploring if her person and Bluebell are near!  If you think you could be the home that could welcome both Bluebell and Marta, please email her foster mom at kathymartine@cox.net for more info about these darling girls.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. More about Marta...SC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
