BIO:

Tilly must go to a home where someone is home most of the day and be with other dogs. She was a puppymill dog and gets anxious when left alone without other dogs.

We have before and after grooming pictures so you can see the difference in her looks. She would need to be kept somewhere in between those cuts.

Tilly’s previous history is shaded gray. We think that she was a puppymill breeder surrender after she reached her breeding age maximum. She is very cute & sweet, but uncertain about what she should be doing. She always looks like she is confused or puzzled. She loves other dogs, and wags her tail when sniffing them. I don’t think that she was ever allowed to play or socialize with other dogs aside from breeding purposes. It was a very sad situation.

But now thanks to AADR she has the opportunity to experience the better side of life! She can feel the grass between her toes and the love of a human lap to sleep in. Wouldn’t it be great to be that perfect forever home for this sweet little girl? Please consider this forgiving soul to be part of your family and show her how life should be. If you have any questions regarding Tilly, please contact her foster mom.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
