BIO:

Little Peaches came from a breeder in Boaz, AL when they decided they didn’t want them any longer. Luckily there were not more but we were contacted by an independent rescuer if we’d take them in. She came in with 1 other male and 3 other females. They all get along but being scared they cling together. You can tell little Peaches wants to be loved but she’s still just a little timid. She’ll need someone that wants to give her the time she needs but we think it won’t be long and you can have her spoiled.

She does well with all the other fosters, male and female in the foster home.

She loves to be outside so we really think a fenced in yard would suit her best and another dog to buddy up with. Being she is so young she’s not been in the puppymill situation long either so quickly she’ll learn to be a pet.

We are going to start her on leash training but if you adopt her you may have to work with her some too.

If you are looking for a little mini girl then Peaches just might be your cup of tea.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
