Bio update (Mar 25)

Jack is at a new foster home; no fault of his. He came to us on March 18th, and his new foster family is having lots of laughs with this sweet action packed Jaxdox (Jack Russell-Dachshund Mix). He gets along with our 3 dachshunds as well as the next door neighbor cat. He loves to go for car rides and his favorite place is on top of your shoulders so he can see out the window. He is doing super on going to the bathroom outside with minimal accidents indoors. Jack is also a loving boy who likes to be in our laps when ever he can. This boy is for anyone who wants a loyal dog who will entertain you and provide lots of love. Oh yea, he is also smart! You can see Jack's adorable personality with his new posted pictures. If you have any questions on Jack you can contact us at chlongo@knology.net.

BIO (Feb 29):

Look at those ears ... are you smiling?!?  You bet you are!!! Jack will bring a smile to your face every time you look at this sweet little boy.  He has only been in his current foster home for 24 hours so we’re just getting to know Jack and his personality.  One thing we can tell you for sure is that Jack is one HAPPY little boy ... his tail is ALWAYS wagging!  He gets along great with all the male and female doxies in the household, too.  He loves to go for a walk, play with toys, sit on your lap, and sleep right next to you in the BIG bed ... and so far he has had no accidents!

Jack traveled one full day (over 16 hours) getting from TN to FL.  He was the perfect passenger, but we don’t think he needs another long trip soon.  So for right now, we’re looking for a family in or near FL for him.  BTW, he would make a great traveling companion for a FL snowbird family!   Like any good doxie, he loves being the center of attention.  His adorable “flying nun” ears make us think he could be a chiweenie (Chihuahua-Dachshund Mix) or Jaxdox (Jack Russell-Dachshund Mix), but his heart is pure dachshund!  He is young and playful, but not crazy like a puppy!

If you are looking for a lively, loving, cuter then cute little guy, then fill out an application today at http://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org   After you fill out your app, you can contact his foster mom (Meg) meg1709@comcast.net   She’ll be happy to tell you more about Jack as he gets settled into his foster home.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
