Update 3/18/16

Hi!  My name is Brownie and I want to give you an update on my progress!  I am having a ball at my Foster Home with my Foster Brother and sometimes visitor doggies too!  We have so much fun wrestling around and chasing each other all over the house and the yard.  Playing ball is a lot of fun too!  When I get tired of chasing them, I will go lie down and slowly pull the cloth off of the ball and eventually chew a big hole in it.  We also have kitty cats living with us.  One of the kitties will let me play with him, but the other would rather be left alone.  I try to get her to play sometimes, but if I try too hard she sends me running!  I think I would like to have a home with another playful doggy or at least with a Mommy and/or Daddy who would be willing to play with me often.  I would also like to have a fenced yard and family where I would not have to be left alone very much.
Did I mention I love to eat?  I will eat my food, the other dogs’ food, the cat food or whatever I can get my paws on.  Foster Mommy has me eat in my crate so everyone can enjoy their food in peace.  That is OK with me I guess.

I am doing very well with my potty habits.  When I go outside, I do not like to go alone.  I want all the other doggies and preferably my Foster Mommy to go outside with me too; unless it is raining, then all bets are off.  When we are inside, I want to be near my Foster Mommy at all times.  Even though playing is a lot of fun, I am a great lap dog.  I love to be held, kissed and talked to.  I do not always know what Foster Mommy is saying, but I am pretty sure it is all good stuff.  I even kiss her back sometimes.  I am always happy and I just cannot wait to find my furever home!  Could you be the one?

BIO:   This guy was picked up as a stray in Tennessee so his history is unknown.  What we do know is Brownie is between 18 months and 2 years old and is a very sweet little man!  He has one brown eye and one blue, and has a larger frame than a miniature dachshund.  He is very slim, friendly and energetic and he has a blast playing with his foster siblings.  Brownie also loves a lap, lots of praise and to go bye bye.  We are working on his potty habits, while he does go outside often and can hold it over night, he still has occaisional accidents.  Updates will be made as we get to know Brownie a little better, but if you have any questions, contact his Foster Mom at Decollinss@aol.com.  You can also visit the website at http://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org.

More about Brownie....OH

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
