Manny
Manny came into my life when my previous Manny went to the Bridge. His picture was on the AADR webpage; he was already named Manny. It seemed that it was destiny. Manny was a GREAT dog; I fail to see how someone could have "lost" him, given him up, etc. He was loyal, kind, loving and he ruled the other doxies in my home with no problem. He was the grand old man of the pack. He went to the Bridge on December 22, 2010 and took my heart with him. I look forward to the day when he will once again greet me with his special bark. Manny's forever mom, Candy.
Clancy
I'm thankful for every day I spent with my boy Clancy, though there were far too few. He left us on October 20, 2010, exactly 88 months after the day I picked the little scared and sightless fellow out of an ex-pen and told him that I was his dad and would love him and take care of him every day of his life. It's a promise that his mom and I kept, except that we couldn't protect him from the tumor that began to grow in him and that took him away from us. He's free from pain now and has joined his brother and sister, Fred and Ginger, on the shelf that overlooks our bed.
Love always,
Mom and Dad
Mrs. Winfred - "Winnie"
Mrs. Winfred. We adopted her from AADR in January of 2010.
She was such a wonderful little diva and she was very spoiled by Jamie who Winnie fell in love with when she first met her.
Winfred had to be put to sleep in October of 2010 because she was going into Congestive Heart Failure. We miss her very much. ♥
Kramer - Always full of love, kisses, and cuddles
Diane,
It’s Angela Emler from Rochester, NY. To jog your memory….A few years ago my ex-boyfriend and I failed as foster parents and adopted Kramer (aka Kramer-Ramer-Rootbeer-Dingdong).
I wanted to let you know that Kramer woke up Saturday morning in severe pain and had partial paralysis of his front paws. I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with a flare up of IVDD. After spending the last 3 days on pain medications, steroids, muscle relaxers and bed rest, he had no improvement and was still suffering. His paralysis got worse and because it was his neck and not lower on his spine, all 4 paws were effected. He wasn’t moving and any attempt to move him caused him to yelp in pain. The vet saw him again today and couldn't even do an exam without giving him a high dose of a narcotic pain med and he still was suffering. After speaking with the vet and getting all of the options and details, I made the heartbreaking decision to end his suffering. I just couldn’t put him through anymore exams or procedures that would cause him more pain and suffering. He passed away very peacefully earlier this afternoon.
Kramer was full of love, kisses and cuddles and he will be missed by all the people he made laugh with his goofy antics and overbite.
Sincerely,
Angela

Oct. 28, 2010
I wanted to let you know that Angel, the senior Doxie we adopted 2 years ago, passed away this morning. I will post a memorial on the website later. Angel was having a hard time breathing yesterday. I took her to the vet and they said she had fluid around her heart from a heart murmur she was diagnosed with. They gave her a lasix injection and sent us home with lasix pills and we were to return to the vet this morning. She got worse during the night, and just before I was ready to leave for the vet with her this morning, she passed away. I took her to the vet for cremation and will keep her ashes. The vet said her heart just gave out. I miss her so much. She had become such a special part of our family. The only strength I have as I write this, is knowing she had all the love and attention that she deserved during her two years with us. Thank you for allowing her to be a part of our family. She will be missed, and there will always be an emptiness in our home that can never be replaced. We will be together again when we meet at the Rainbow Bridge.
