Kramer - Always full of love, kisses, and cuddles
Diane,
It’s Angela Emler from Rochester, NY. To jog your memory….A few years ago my ex-boyfriend and I failed as foster parents and adopted Kramer (aka Kramer-Ramer-Rootbeer-Dingdong).
I wanted to let you know that Kramer woke up Saturday morning in severe pain and had partial paralysis of his front paws. I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with a flare up of IVDD. After spending the last 3 days on pain medications, steroids, muscle relaxers and bed rest, he had no improvement and was still suffering. His paralysis got worse and because it was his neck and not lower on his spine, all 4 paws were effected. He wasn’t moving and any attempt to move him caused him to yelp in pain. The vet saw him again today and couldn't even do an exam without giving him a high dose of a narcotic pain med and he still was suffering. After speaking with the vet and getting all of the options and details, I made the heartbreaking decision to end his suffering. I just couldn’t put him through anymore exams or procedures that would cause him more pain and suffering. He passed away very peacefully earlier this afternoon.
Kramer was full of love, kisses and cuddles and he will be missed by all the people he made laugh with his goofy antics and overbite.
Sincerely,
Angela

I wanted to let you know that Angel, the senior Doxie we adopted 2 years ago, passed away this morning. I will post a memorial on the website later. Angel was having a hard time breathing yesterday. I took her to the vet and they said she had fluid around her heart from a heart murmur she was diagnosed with. They gave her a lasix injection and sent us home with lasix pills and we were to return to the vet this morning. She got worse during the night, and just before I was ready to leave for the vet with her this morning, she passed away. I took her to the vet for cremation and will keep her ashes. The vet said her heart just gave out. I miss her so much. She had become such a special part of our family. The only strength I have as I write this, is knowing she had all the love and attention that she deserved during her two years with us. Thank you for allowing her to be a part of our family. She will be missed, and there will always be an emptiness in our home that can never be replaced. We will be together again when we meet at the Rainbow Bridge.

Heidi(Nickki)
Meet Heidi, we adopted her about a year ago, she was found roaming the streets in Tennessee. When we got her she was sooo skinny, and very withdrawn. We took her to the vet and they estimated she was 10 years old, she had what looked like scarred bite wounds and had to have most of her teeth pulled. Heidi had a rough life.We wanted to give her everything she never had, and could ever want. She got along great with her new brothers and sisters, especially Honda our biggest dog, He is a Lab mix all 60 pounds of him and she loved him,she would follow him around outside and he would try to get her to play. She always hung out in Grandmas room since it was always warm and she gave out treats. But not long after we got her she developed a sore on her hip. We took her to the Dr. and after a dozen or so test and a trip to the dermatologist we found out she had a bacterial infection that was spreading, and the only thing that would kill it was an antibiotic that could kill her. We had to do something so we went ahead with the injections. She had to have fluids sub-Q twice a day and a shot of the medicine every day. It seemed to be working but yet she seemed to be getting worse so she went back to the Dr. they did more test and now she has a brain tumor, well it was down hill from there, she started having seizures and we knew it was time to let her go. I know she knew we loved her, I wish she could have gotten better and lived with us longer . We miss her very much.
Buddy
Look at that “Handsome Dude” Buddy was my sweet boy. Tossed at the pound by the ones who owned him for almost 10 years. Thrown away like yesterdays newspaper. This sweet boy had lots of love to give and a lot of life left to live. For the last five years he has been our boy. He went to work each day and greeted the customers with barks. Customers would drop by just to see him and his sisters Sunshine and Gidget then Gertie. He was sooo loved by us and will be deeply missed by many. Time was short for us, but we loved every second with this little dude. It is comforting to know that he is now running free of pain with his little sister Sunshine at the rainbow bridge, who also left us 2 years ago. We miss you both very much, you will always be in our hearts.
Sisters Gidget & Gertie, Mommy Jennifer and Daddy Larry.
Heidi
In memory of Heidi who passed in January 2009. A faithful friend and member of the McGee family for fourteen years.
