SNUGGLES
SNUGGLES THANKS FOR BEING WITH ME, YOU WILL BE MISSED BY ALL OF US. I WILL SEE YOU AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE. LOVE U CATHY

Merryweather(Miss Claire)
Merryweather (Miss Claire) did nothing but produce puppies for her first six years but her big break came the day that Diane took her away from that life. Poor little girl was not healthy and despite everything, didn’t live quite a year after she came to AADR. We take comfort that in her last year, she was loved. She is missed. She joins Lucy, Rex, Priscilla, Baby, Charlie, Molly, and Chelsey in the group of dachshunds I hope to find waiting for me at the bridge. "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." (author unknown) - Sharon Blanton

Abby
Last week Abby went to that doggie heaven in the sky. Every effort was made to keep her happy and comfortable but we finally reached the point and sympathetically and with feeling we lost her. I cried for two days. I want to thank you for six wonderful years with her—she was a love and she will be remembered. Fondly, Georgene Slepin

Priscilla
To our sweet baby girl Priscilla.... Mom and I miss you so much. There isn't a day that goes by that you aren't a constant thought in our hearts and minds. Our daily routines seem so meaningless now without you to share in them. We could never replace you sweet little girl and would never try, but we do hope to bring another young Doxie into our home who is in need of the love that we were able to share with you. She will not be replacing you sweetheart but helping to keep your spirit alive!! Until we meet again sweet Priscilla.......Much love Mommy & Grandma

Scarlett
Scarlett passed away at her forever home. This was a letter her new owner and her were composing to send to SSDR. They got the letter finished but she took ill and passed before it could be sent. RUN FREE MS. SCARLETT WE'LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.... I just wanted to say thank you for your faith and willingness to invest in me when it looked as I might not make it another night. It’s nice to know I have such wonderful friends at SSDR. I’ve really enjoyed the past 6-8 months, but I’m very happy to have my very own place again. I love my new daddies and they love me. Tanner and Lacy are my new brother and sister. They are absolute sweethearts. We have this huge bed that we all crawl in together — there are even covers! We like to make tunnels in the sheets and blankets and try to find our way out. We could fit five more wieners in that bed, but daddy says he’s not ready for that. Diane told daddy that I need soft food, so he stocked up on the canned stuff. As he opened the pantry, I glanced around and saw all those cans! I didn’t think my tongue could hang out any more than it does, but it did. Boy oh boy, did I hit the jackpot this time. If I could just figure out how to get that door open myself…… I’ve barked for some time now. As you know things are multiplied x7 in doggie time. I’m not a spring chicken anymore, so I need to go climb in that big bed again. Thank you for posting my picture on the web and allowing my star which has long been tarnished to shine once more. I have enjoyed my 15 minutes of fame. Because of the generosity and love shown to me during my time with those associated with Southern States Dachshund Rescue, those minutes will become years. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. I’m forever so grateful. Love, Scarlett
