Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Tater number 2.....NY
Tater number 2.....NY

Tater she is doing great and adjusting well. She loves to sit on the rug by the wood burning stove and will sit in my lap all night long as long as I dont stop petting her.

Tess...AL

Tess is our girl! She was our first adoption through AADR (we have since added Basil as well). She is a very loving and happy go-lucky girl! While her previous life story was a little sad, this girl is a bundle of energy and love. At night, she dives under the covers and is happy there until morning (we call her sleeping beauty). She loves to meet new people and dogs. One of her greatest joys in life is chasing squirrels in our backyard! We adopted Tess when our Rolo was ill and we all hoped she would be able to encourage him a little in his recovery. Sadly, Rolo's Cushings was caused by an overly aggressive tumor that even with radiation claimed his life within six months. Rolo will always be our gateway doxie -- it was he that exposed us to this wonderful breed and their hearts and quirky humor! Tess is so special and gives us joy each and every day. We are so thankful for AADR rescuing this little girl and letting us be her forever home!

Twinkle...TN

Hi there, I apologize for the delayed response. LUCY (formerly known as Twinkle from MI) is doing wonderfully. She responds to her name & is catching on to peeing outside. She is such a little love-bug. I've attached a photo & will try to check in as often as possible. Thank you for reaching out. Kind regards, Cindy, Tessa & *LUCY

TRACE...CA

Can you believe it has been over a year since he has come home?? In some ways it has been a blink of an eye and in others it seems like I have had him forever. I had no idea how incredible this little dog would be in my life, but he literally saved me after loosing my beloved Max and than during the rest of the year my 2 senior babies went over the bridge to be with their brother. Loosing all three in 12 months sent me into a downward spiral of depression and all the time, by my side, with his patient, gentle ways and his silly little antics was Tryston, never wavering in his devotion. How can I thank you enough for my precious baby??

TANGO...GA

Tucker is doing great. He is the second Dachshund that my girlfriend and I adopted from your organization. Tucker has adjusted very well with Tango, our first adoption, and they do everything together. Thank you and your organization for all the hard work you put into finding these great dogs a home.
