Happy Tales
Every one of these dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Max #1 and Bella #1 in IN (Bonded Pair)

I brought these 2 home to foster from the Halfway House picnic April of 2017. They stole my heart and became very much loved members of our family! Max and Bella.... 2 more rays of sunshine in my life! Thank you AADR!!!!

Maggie Mae....FL

Maggie Mae came to us from a shelter.  She was down with severe back issues when we took her in.  We mobilized an effort to raise funds for her and got her the surgery she needed.  She was on the road to improvement when she suffered a setback.  Then she was moved to a foster home where she once again began her recovery.  It would be a long process and it was decided to send her to another organization that specialized in rehabilitation cases.  Again, Maggie improved and was almost ready to find her forever home when tragedy again struck. This time a tornado hit the facility she was in and did signficant damage.  Maggie Mae was again moved to another foster home while repairs to the facility were underway.  It was there that yet another setback in her recovery occurred.  Back to the rehab facility and then through a chain of events, AADR got her back.  She went to a foster home in Alabama that has done some great things with dogs with IVDD.  Not too long ago, she was adopted and moved to Jacksonville!!  A long time coming for this sweet girl but she has her own forever home.  They were so excited and happy they have since adopted another AADR dog as a brother!!!  This is what a community of folks can do when they don't give up and give love a chance.

Momo...VA

I wanted to share my Mo-Mo's story. We adopted him through AADR on September 22, 2014. He is the light of our lives and has been a faithful companion for our older dog left behind when our Airedale passed away at the age of 11.  Last year we adopted a companion for Mo through In His Hands Small Animal Rescue due to the recommendation of AADR. Thank you so much AADR!

Sincerely,
Keith and Jan

Mocha.....MD

Mocha is doing very well. Top photo is her new dog partner Blondie. They are not yet playing together but like each other & walk together & sleep near each other on the sofa.

Mitsi.....MI

Mitsi is doing great! Can't believe it's been two weeks already! We are still working on potty training, she is so stubborn and does not like to pee outside but we are working on it! She loves going for walks and cuddles at bedtime. She's becoming much more confident and really enjoys barking at people as they walk in front of our house. We just love her and her personality! Here's some pictures for you guys!
